"RMSN Robert Ray Weaver"
"The newspaper article refers to a collision between the USS Ruchamkin and a civilian tanker which happened in November 1952. The Fremont was part of the convoy that was training for an assault landing, but is not mentioned in the article. After the collision occurred the Fremont was required to recover the six dead personnel, take them aboard and return them to Norfolk. Fremont being the "flagship" had to return to the convoy to complete the training exercise. This article was provided by Nick Di Enno."
